Woodlands Strykers News Release
Strykers player, Dirk Masters has been named the Warstic Player of the Week for Week 9 of the TCL Season. Masters had a pretty good week that helped him secure the honor.
Masters became the first Strykers player named to the honor this season. The Angleton, Texas native has seen action at first, in the outfield, designated hitter and as pitcher. This past week, the Sam Houston State Bearcat was 9-25 with three doubles, one homerun and eight RBIs. He also threw 1.1 innings of relief on July 24th against the Texas Marshals in which he gave up zero earned runs, two hits, three walks and one strikeout.
The Strykers are proud of Masters for his accomplishment. "Dirk has really been having a great last three weeks or so," Assistant GM Lance Drake said. "He has been a consistant presence in our lineup and he will be a big asset to have as we look to get into the playoffs." The Strykers are looking to secure a playoff berth after having a strong second half to the season. The team is trying to secure either the three or four seed. The team is 10-10 in the second half and is 7-3 in their last 10 games.
