Generals Add Sams and Sena from A+ High Desert

JACKSON, TENN. (APRIL 16, 2012) - The Seattle Mariners have made the following roster moves that affect the Jackson Generals roster. LHP Steve Garrison and OF Daniel Carroll have been placed on the 7-day DL. RHP Jandy Sena and OF Kalian Sams have been activated from A+ High Desert.

Placed on 7-day DL:

. LHP Steve Garrison, retro to 4/12

. OF Daniel Carroll

Transferred to Jackson:

. RHP Jandy Sena

. OF Kalian Sams

Garrison, 25, has made 2 appearnces for the Generals this season and is 1-0, with a 0.00 ERA in 4.1 innings, striking out 4 and walking 3. He last appeared in a game on April 12 at Tennessee.

Carroll, 23, batted .158 (6x38), with 1 home run, 2 RBI and 3 stolen bases in 10 games. Carroll was injured during the 16th inning of last night's 4-3 loss to the Braves sliding head first into second base.

Sena, 22, was 1-0, with a 2.25 ERA in 3 relief appearances for A+ High Desert this season, striking out 4 and walking 3. Sena, from Miami, FL made 2 appearances for the Generals in 2011. He was drafted by the Mariners in the 23rd round during the 2010 draft.

Sams, 25, has yet to make an appearance in a game this season. The Hague, Netherlands native split last season between Low-A Clinton and A+ High Desert batting a combined .231 with 16 doubles, 24 home runs, 66 RBI and 26 stolen bases. He was signed as a non-drafted free agent by the Mariners in 2006.

The Generals roster stands at 25 players.
