Lake Erie Crushers News Release
Avon, Oh- The Lake Erie Crushers General Manager Ryan Gates will be leaving for "Green" pastures. Gates will be moving on to affiliated baseball by taking on the same role with the Bowling Green Hot Rods in Bowling Green, Kentucky, Class A affiliate of the Tampa Bay Rays.
Gates has been the General Manager over the past two seasons and has had a strong rapport not only within the Lake Erie Crushes organization, but within the city of Avon as well.
"This is a bittersweet moment in Crushers history. Ryan was the first official employee of the Lake Erie Crushers and played a significant role in creating what is here today. Ryan did an excellent job leading our staff, as well as creating and maintaining a visible presence in and around the community. The organization is poised for a breakout season hosting the 2011 Frontier League All-Star Game and is working diligently on an increase in additional family shows and concerts," said Crushers Owner Steven Edelson.
"It has been an absolute pleasure being part of the Crushers organization from day one," said Crushers General Manager Ryan Gates. "The community welcomed me with open arms and with everyone's support we made the first two years at All Pro Freight Stadium an amazing success. Thanks to a great staff, ownership, fan base, and community. It is a bittersweet farewell, but the organization is poised for a breakout 2011 with the Frontier All Star game and a full schedule of extra events."
The Lake Erie Crushers, the 2009 Frontier League Champions, play ball at All Pro Freight Stadium, a 5,000 capacity stadium located in Avon, OH. Beginning in 2010, All Pro Freight Stadium also became the home to the Cleveland State University baseball team. The Frontier League is an independent baseball league with 12 teams operating throughout the Midwest. Season tickets for the 2011 season are on sale now!
