GARY, Ind. - The Gary SouthShore RailCats will begin the defense of their 2013 American Association title on the road on Thursday, May 15, 2014 against the St. Paul (MN) Saints. The RailCats 2014 home opener will arrive on Thursday, May 22nd vs. last season's championship series opponent the Wichita Wingnuts at the U. S. Steel Yard. Opening Day will feature a pre-game ring ceremony with first pitch at 7:10 pm.

The RailCats are beginning their 13th season of existence and fourth season as a member of the 12-team American Association, as part of the four-team Central Division. The regular season consists of 100 games, including 50 at home at U. S. Steel Yard. "Another great season to look forward to. The 2014 schedule features an 8-game homestand for the RailCats from July 30- August 6. They will also play home games on Memorial Day and the Fourth of July, the latter featuring post-game Fireworks! The RailCats will play 7 home games in May, 13 in June, 14 in July and 16 in August.

Standard game times will be 7:10 p.m. for Monday-Friday games, 6:10 on Saturdays and 2:10 on Sundays. There will be exceptions for Kid's Day games, dates and times TBD. The start time for Memorial Day on May 26 is TBD, a 7:10 pm start on Friday, July 4, and a 5:10pm start on Sunday, August 3rd.

In the coming months, the RailCats will unveil a full schedule of promotions, theme nights and giveaways for the 2014 season. Fans are encouraged to keep up with the RailCats online at www.railcatsbaseball.com, as well as on their Facebook and twitter pages.
