Three Keys To The Game Presented By Nebraska Department Of Transportation
Key 1: Strike First
- The Stars have opened up the weekend by allowing Sioux City to score the game's first goal in both games. Lincoln did come back on Friday but never held the lead last night. The Stars are 12-7 when scoring first and the Fighting Saints are 18-7-1-1.
Key 2: Keep The Point Streak Rolling
- Despite falling last night, the Stars still extended their point streak to six games. Even better, both Des Moines and Sioux Falls lost so the Stars are now seven points ahead of the Buccaneers for the final playoff spot in the West and only five points back of the Stampede for the fifth seed.
Key 3: Slow Down Another Potent Offense
- After holding the fourth-highest scoring team in the USHL to just five combined goals to open the weekend, Lincoln looks to wrap up the tripleheader with another strong defensive showing but against a new opponent. Dubuque has scored nine goals in two wins this weekend and is The Fighting Saints and the Stars combined for 11 goals in their only previous meeting this season on Dec. 2 and that represented the most combined goals in any Stars game this season.
