The Brandon Wheat Kings return to Saskatoon for the first time since November 9th, 2019, with much on the line for both hockey clubs. With the Wheat Kings and Blades currently sharing third place in the East Division, tonight's game has the potential to be a "four point game" due to the highly competitive and tight nature of the East. To make things even more interesting, the teams will meet again on Friday in Brandon to complete a home & home series that begins tonight.

While Saskatoon does hold a 2-0-0-1 record over Brandon, the Wheat Kings of 2020 are a far cry from the ones beaten by the Blades last year. Led by top NHL 2020 Draft prospect Braden Schneider on the back-end, the Wheaties completed 10 wins in a row with a 6-3 victory against the Victoria Royals on January 24th, 2020. That streak included scalps from the Prince Albert Raiders, Calgary Hitmen & Medicine Hat Tigers to name a few. They're most recently coming off a home & home series with the Cats from the Hat, claiming three of a possible four points against the Eastern Conference's 3rd-placed team.

Need to Know for Winning Wednesday:

If the Blades win on Winning Wednesday, everybody in attendance goes home with a free ticket to our next home game! Plus, wings are on special all night too & fans who buy their first ticket at SaskTel Box Office will be able to buy their second ticket for just $2!

Miss out one of our hockey card games from earlier in the season? We've still got some packs left at the Frozen Pond. Get to the game early before they all sell out!

Tonight's Frozen Pond Special:

Tonight's Program Poster: 20-year-old forward Randen Schmidt will grace tonight's program poster. Undrafted, the Regina local joined the Blades' as a listed defenceman during the 2017-18 season after swapping from the forward position while playing in the SMHL. Schmidt swapped back to the forward position in 2018-19 and has gone on to have a career year in 2019-20, hitting career highs in both games played (43) & points (8, 1G-7A).
