PEARL, MISS. (JUNE 2, 2009) -The game time for the Diamond Jaxx and Mississippi Braves opener on Sunday, June 28th has been moved from 2:05pm to 4:05pm. Southern League by-laws prohibit a game starting before 4:00pm on the first day of a series. The Jaxx and Braves will play their third series of the season from Sunday June 28th to Friday, July 3rd at Pringles Park.

The Jaxx and Braves play a double-header tonight at Trustmark Park in Pearl, MS 16 hours after playing a 16 inning game that was eventually won by the Braves 5-4. The Jaxx are in a stretch of playing nine games in six days and 76 innings in nine days. The game on Monday night was the longest in Trustmark Park history and the longest so far in 2009 in the Southern League. The Diamond Jaxx will be playing their sixth double-header of the season tonight. The Jaxx are leading the season series with the M-Braves 4 to 2 and this series is split 1 to 1.

Matt Mangini went 3-for-7 for his fourth 3-hit game of the season. Mangini, the Mariners 2nd-round draft pick out of Oklahoma State in ‘07, is 8-for-14 (.571) over his last 3 games and is batting .302 (29x96) over his last 27 games (since 5/1).
