Game suspended with Saltdogs leading AirHogs 3-0

LINCOLN, Neb. -- The Grand Prairie AirHogs and Lincoln Saltdogs saw their game suspended in the bottom of the third Saturday night, with the Saltdogs leading the AirHogs 3-0. Kurt Steinhauer homered off Jason Jennings to lead off the bottom of the first, and the Saltdogs scratched across a couple of runs in the second.

Grand Prairie had chances in the first (second and third, one out) and in the third (first and second, no one out), but could not score against Jino Gonzalez. A severe thunderstorm rolled through Haymarket Park in the bottom of the third, and the game was stopped at 8:05 p.m. with Jorge Cortes at third and two outs, with a 2-2 count on Brandon Jones.

After waiting for just over 70 minutes the game was officially called off for the night. Per league rules, this game will be concluded on Sunday and go nine innings, with the resumption scheduled for 3:05 p.m., followed by the regularly-scheduled game which will be cut to seven frames.

The next AirHogs home game at QuikTrip Park is Friday, August 12, for Faith and Family Night, featuring a postgame concert and testimonies of praise from former and current athletes.
