Game Recap: 13 Runs Not Enough on Monday Night

HARRISBURG (19-23) 14-18-0 ERIE (19-22) 13-16-1 BOX SCORE GAME LOG In a night illuminated by offensive fireworks, the SeaWolves dropped a heartbreaking 14-13 loss Monday to the Harrisburg Senators at UPMC Park. Erie held a 13-9 lead going into the 9th inning, but failed to hold off the Senators whole piled on five runs. Harrisburg DH Jose Marmamolejos hit the go-ahead grand slam off of Waldis Joaquin to give the Senators the lead since the bottom of the 3rd. Gabriel Quintana cranked three home runs and smacked a double in his 4-for-5 effort Monday. The SeaWolves third baseman drove in six runs and came around to score four times in the loss. Christin Stewart hit his 13th home run of the year on a two-run blast in the bottom of the first, tying him for the Eastern League lead. A.J. Simcox also added a long ball to the Erie offense Monday, as the shortstop hit his second home run of the season in the 3rd inning. Despite a night full of pitching woes for the SeaWolves, both Adam Ravenelle and Jairo Lobourt performed well out of the bullpen. The lefty tossed two perfect innings tonight and fanned four Senators. The SeaWolves fall to 19-22 on the season while Harrisburg climbs to 19-23.

The series will continue Tuesday at 6:35 PM at UPMC Park. RHP Myles Jaye (0-4, 5.12 ERA) is slated to face off against the Senators' RHP Derek Eitel (0-1, 21.60 ERA). Tuesday, the first 500 fans (21+) receive a SeaWolves pint glass courtesy of Budweiser. It's also Two-Buck Tuesday. Fans can enjoy $2 Budweiser and Bud Light drafts in exclusively in the Bud Light Beer Garden until the end of the sixth inning. Tuesday also features Kids Eat Free thanks to 94.7 BOB FM. The first 250 kids ages 12 and younger receive a voucher good for a Smith's Hot Dog, Pepsi fountain drink and bag of UTZ chips.
