BOWIE, MD- Drew Weeks' two-run single capped a dramatic ninth inning rally, then reliever James Farris strike out the side in the bottom of the ninth, leading the Hartford Yard Goats to a 7-6 victory Tuesday night at Prince George's Stadium. The stunning comeback extended the Yard Goats' season-high winning streak to seven games and pulled them to within one game of .500 at 21-22.

Trailing 6-2, entering the eighth inning, Hartford scored a run on Weeks' RBI single, but left the bases loaded. Omar Carrizales opened the ninth inning with a walk and Anthony Phillips was hit by a pitch. Max White doubled into the left-field corner to knock home one run. With one out and first base open, Ryan McMahon was intentionally walked, setting the stage for Weeks' solid single to center.

Farris then struck out the side for his second straight outing to notch his seventh save and make a winning pitcher out of reliever Matt Pierpont, who retired all nine batters he faced.

Weeks paced the Hartford attack with three hits and three RBI. Ashley Graeter had two hits. One night after going 5-for-5, Dillon Thomas homered to give the Yard Goats an early 2-0 lead. White added a run-scoring double.

Game three of the series is Wednesday night at 6:35. RH Luis Niebla will pitch for the Yard Goats against RH Matthew Grimes for Bowie. The game can be heard on AM 1410 WPOP and on iHeart radio.
