NEWS & NOTES:
Last Game:. The Wheat Kings avoided a Central Division road trip sweep after a stellar 4-2 win in Red Deer last Saturday night. Nate Danielson led the way with a pair of goals including the game winner in what was his 100th career game in his hometown. Goaltender Nick Jones earned his 1st WHL victory and 1st Star of the game after stopping 40 of 42 Rebels shots.
Nov 25th VS Lethbridge: The Wheat Kings and Hurricanes prepare for back to back games this weekend. Last time these two clubs met was inside the Enmax Centre in Lethbridge where the Wheat Kings won 2-1. They relied on stellar goaltending from Carson Bjarnason who stopped 32 of 33 shots and got production out of Calder Anderson & Nate Danielson who picked up the two goals. Since that game the Wheat Kings have lost 10 of their last 12. The Hurricanes have gone in the other direction running an 8-3-0-1 record in their last 12, picking up victories over the Red Deer Rebels and even a split in back to back games in Winnipeg earlier this week, snapping their 15 game winning streak and handing the Ice their first home loss of the season.
Island Boys: The Wheat Kings acquired forward Anthony Wilson & blue liner Luke Shipley from the Victoria Royals in exchange for forward Teydon Trembecky, Red Deer's 3rd Round Pick in 2023, a 5th Round Pick in 2024 & a 4th Round Pick in 2026.
