After a 2-1-1 four game road trip, the Solar Bears look to defend their home ice tonight against the Gwinnett Gladiators. In their last four games at home, the Solar Bears have a 3-0-1 record, including a 4-3 overtime victory over the Utah Grizzlies in their last outing on Sunday, January 5. The Solar Bears have been playing strong hockey of late, earning a 5-1-2 record in their last eight games. The Solar Bears closed out a four game road trip last weekend against the Florida Everblades, where they took a shootout win 4-3 over Florida before falling 6-5 on Saturday night. In Saturday's contest, the Solar Bears scored three goals in 50 seconds, but were unable to hold off a late Everblades attack. The Gladiators are coming off a 2-0 loss to the Wheeling Nailers on Monday. The Nailers broke through a 0-0 tie with a goal at 13:17 into the second period to take a 1-0 lead into the third period on a shorthanded tally. The Gladiators managed eight shots in the final period but were unable to break through, surrendering the final goal of the game on an empty net with 48 seconds left in the contest. The Solar Bears are 4-0-0-2 against Gwinnett this season.

The Solar Bears are wearing special pink jerseys tonight against the Gwinnett Gladiators and on Sunday at 3:00 p.m. against the Florida Everblades. Also, the first 3,000 fans at the game on Sunday will receive a commemorative puck, courtesy of Florida Hospital.
