New England Revolution News Release

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. - The New England Revolution (10-10-12, 42 pts.) will have an opportunity to clinch the club's spot in the Audi 2019 MLS Cup Playoffs against Eastern Conference leaders New York City FC on Sunday, Sept. 29 at Gillette Stadium. The Revs' regular season home finale kicks off at 5:00 p.m. ET on Sunday, airing locally NBC Sports Boston and 98.5 The Sports Hub HD2, with 1260 AM Nossa Radio providing Portuguese commentary. Authenticated subscribers may also stream the match on NBCSportsBoston.com and on the NBC Sports Boston mobile app.

Fans will have a new option for getting to Gillette Stadium on Sunday, as the Massachusetts Bay Transit Authority (MBTA) will be running a special event train service to Foxborough. The train originates from South Station at 2:10 p.m. ET, making stops at Back Bay (2:15 p.m.), Route 128 (2:30 p.m.), and Mansfield (2:55 p.m.) en route to Gillette Stadium. The train will then depart the stadium 30 minutes after the end of the match. Fans are encouraged to purchase their tickets in advance, priced at $20 for a round trip, in the mTicket app or at the ticket offices at South Station, North Station, and Back Bay Station.

Riding a wave of 18 results in the last 20 league matches (8-2-10), New England enters the final home match of the regular season poised to clinch its first playoff berth since 2015. The Revs would punch their postseason ticket with a win over New York City FC, but could also secure their spot with a draw against NYCFC if Chicago loses or ties vs. Toronto, and Montreal loses or ties vs. Atlanta. Even with a loss on Sunday, the Revolution could clinch the seventh seed in the Eastern Conference if Chicago loses, and both Montreal and Orlando City either lose or tie.

Prior to the match on Sunday, the Revolution will unveil the club's 2019 team award winners, including the JetBlue Revolution Team MVP, Defender of the Year, Humanitarian of the Year, and Players' Player of the Year. However, one other prestigious club honor - the Revolution Golden Boot Award - remains up for grabs with two games remaining, as both of the Revs' scoring leaders tallied in Wednesday's comeback draw at Portland. Carles Gil, who has started all 32 matches to date, paces the team with 10 goals to go with his 14 assists - fourth most in MLS - while fellow newcomer Gustavo Bou scored his eighth goal through 12 games.
