September 28, 2019 - Major League Soccer (MLS)
Los Angeles FC News Release

The Los Angeles Football Club (LAFC) will take on Minnesota United FC on Sunday, September 29 at Allianz Field. Tomorrow's contest in Saint Paul is scheduled for 4:30 p.m. PT and will be broadcast on FS1, FOX Deportes, ESPN 710 AM, and 980 AM "La Mera Mera'.

The Week 30 matchup will mark the Club's final road game of the year. LAFC currently leads the league with eight wins away from home, and is just one of two teams in MLS (New York City FC) to have a winning record on the road (8-3-5; 29 points).

On Wednesday night, LAFC (20-4-8) won its first trophy in Club history, claiming the 2019 Supporters' Shield after a 3-1 win over the Houston Dynamo. Goals from Carlos Vela, Diego Rossi and Eduard Atuesta guided the Club to its 20th win on the season, and secured the top spot in the MLS standings.

Meanwhile, Minnesota clinched their first-ever trip to the MLS playoffs after defeating Sporting KC on September 25 at Allianz Field. At home, the Loons boast a 10-1-5 record, with their only loss taking place on June 2 (3-2 vs. Philadelphia).

Minnesota is the only team to defeat LAFC at Banc of California Stadium in 2019, downing the Black & Gold 2-0 on September 1. Last year, the two Western Conference teams split the season series, with each side winning on home soil. LAFC earned a 2-0 victory on May 9 in Los Angeles, before dropping a 5-1 contest on July 22 in Minnesota.
