Following a 2-0 road loss on Sunday to D.C. United, Sounders FC (14-10-8, 50 points) travels to face the San Jose Earthquakes (13-13-5, 44 points) on Sunday, September 29 at Avaya Stadium. This marks the second MLS regular-season meeting between the clubs this season. Seattle and San Jose played to a 2-2 draw on April 24 at CenturyLink Field.

Sunday's match is being broadcast locally on JOEtv and regionally on YouTube TV, featuring Keith Costigan, Kasey Keller and Steve Zakuani on the call. A Spanish-language broadcast is available on Univision-Seattle, with Jaime Mendez handling play-by-play and Diego Arrioja on analyst duties.

Sounders FC clinched its league-record 11th consecutive postseason berth on Wednesday evening, as Portland's draw with New England and San Jose's loss to Philadelphia secured the Rave Green a spot in the 2019 Audi MLS Cup Playoffs. Following Sunday's match, Brian Schmetzer's club hosts a Decision Day match against Minnesota United FC on Sunday, October 6 (1:00 p.m. PT / JOEtv, Univision-Seattle, YouTube TV, 950 KJR AM, El Rey 1360 AM).
