New England Revolution News Release
FOXBOROUGH, Mass. - The New England Revolution (5-3-2, 17 pts.) will host Columbus Crew SC (6-3-3; 21 pts.) at Gillette Stadium on Saturday evening for the second of three home games in May. The match kicks off at 7:30 p.m. ET and will be televised locally on NBC Sports Boston with Brad Feldman, Paul Mariner, and Naoko Funayama on the call. Authenticated subscribers may also stream the match on NBCSportsBosoton.com and on the NBC Sports app. The contest also airs on the radio with 98.5 The Sports Hub HD2 broadcasting the action in English, and WMVX 1570 AM Nossa Radio providing Portuguese commentary.
Saturday's match will be the second and final regular season meeting between the Revs and Crew SC in 2018. On April 21, the two sides played to a 2-2 draw at MAPFRE Stadium. In that match, Teal Bunbury and Cristian Penilla tallied for the Revs, earning New England its first road point in Columbus since a 1-0 win on Oct. 27, 2013.
This weekend's match is also the Revolution's annual Salute to Heroes night at Gillette Stadium. Through a partnership with USO New England, the Revolution will distribute tickets to local military, police, fire personnel, and first responders as a token of appreciation for keeping America safe on a daily basis. In addition to a number of activities throughout the stadium and in the Fan Zone, on the field, the club will sport patriotic numbers and a custom captain's armband. Following the match, the New England Revolution Charitable Foundation will hold an online auction featuring game-used items worn and signed by Revolution players. All proceeds from this auction, as well as a portion of proceeds from all tickets sold online using the promo code SALUTE18, will benefit USO New England.
Following Saturday's contest, New England will make its lone trip to the Pacific Northwest for an away match against Vancouver Whitecaps FC on Saturday, May 26 at BC Place. That match will kick off at 5:30 p.m. ET, and will be broadcast locally on NBC Sports Boston, 98.5 The Sports Hub, and WMVX 1570 AM Nossa Radio.
