Game Preview: Guelph Storm at Saginaw Spirit

The Storm cross the border for tonight's action in Saginaw, this is the first time the Storm will take on the Spirit this season. The puck drops at 7:05pm.

The Storm are playing the second half of an away back-to-back which had them visit the Soo Greyhounds last night. The Greyhounds got the best of the Storm and beat Guelph 7-2, with this the record now stands at 13-7-1-1 and the Storm still sit 2nd in the conference standings. The Storm will be looking to bounce back today after last night's game and give the Spirit a first taste of the offensive skill the team has.

The Spirit welcome to the Storm to the Dow Event Center for the first time this season. Their most recent game Thursday night saw them lose 3-0 to the Flint Firebirds. With a record of 10-8-1-0 they sit 6th in conference standings. With both teams coming off a loss this week both teams will be looking to use tonight as a bounce back and come out with a win.

Players to Watch:

Guelph Storm - Cam Allen

After coming back from winning the 2021 Capital City Challenge, Allen will be a key piece to defensive success for the Storm. With 8 points in 19 games, Allen in his rookie season, has provided some great depth for the Storm on both sides of the puck. With a total of 3 goals, he has been able to score some timely goals and provide offensively when needed. The team will be glad to have him back and tonight he is the player to watch.

Saginaw Spirit - Josh Bloom

There's a reason Bloom leads all major statistical categories for the Spirit. With 26 points, that features 15 goals, and 11 assists Bloom has been a major piece to the Spirit offence. The 2021 Buffalo Sabres 3rd round pick has had a great start to his second OHL season where's he has gotten his 26 points over 19 games. Watch out for him on Saginaw as the Storm take them on tonight.
