Oshawa Generals News Release
The Oshawa Generals open their weekend at home tonight against the Hamilton Bulldogs at the Tribute Communities Centre. The Gens hold a 14-7-2-0 record after recording a big shootout win on the road against the Ottawa 67's on Wednesday. Coming back to town sporting four straight wins, the Gens will look to extend their streak and defeat the Bulldogs at home tonight.
Tonight's matchup marks the fourth time Oshawa will battle the Bulldogs this season. The Gens have had success against Hamilton so far in the year, with two wins and an overtime loss in the three previous meetups. Potting 17 goals total in the three games, the Gens will look to keep up the trend of high-scoring contests against their division rivals tonight.
With their 14-7-2-0 record, Oshawa has continued to rise in the eastern conference, currently holding third place and tied for points with the second place Mississauga Steelheads at 30. Meanwhile, the Hamilton Bulldogs find themselves near the bottom of the conference with a 10-11-1-0 record through 22 games. With the Bulldogs coming off a 5-3 defeat to the Kingston Frontenacs on Sunday, the Gens will need to shut down a Hamilton team looking to rebound from their loss.
Heading into tonight's game, Gens captain Jack Studnicka holds the team lead in points and will be a key player to watch. The captain currently sits at 9 goals and 29 points in 22 games this season, coming off a big performance on Wednesday in Ottawa in which he potted the tying goal that would push the Gens to their shootout win. Riding a 4-game point streak and 8 points over that stretch, look for the captain to be a key contributor to Oshawa's offense tonight.
Head out to the Tribute Communities Centre for tonight's game against the Hamilton Bulldogs and join us for 7:35pm puck drop! After tonight's game, the team will remain in Oshawa for another tilt at home against the Sarnia Sting on Sunday to finish off the weekend.
