Game Preview: Barnstormers vs. Storm

The Iowa Barnstormers (6-4) will face the Sioux Falls Storm (5-5) in Des Moines on Saturday night. Kickoff is set for 7:05 P.M.

The Barnstormers are coming off a 34-24 home victory over the Green Bay Blizzard. It was a close game all night and both defenses were exceptionally present.

Meanwhile the Storm travel to Wells Fargo Arena following an overtime win over the Quad City Steamwheelers, 62-55. The first play of overtime resulted in a touchdown pass from QB Dalton Sneed to WR Donnie Corley, and the Storm were able to prevail.

It is the fourth and final regular-season matchup between Iowa and Sioux Falls this year, Iowa leading the rivalry 2-1. The first game, played in Sioux Falls, resulted in a 45-31 victory for Iowa. The Barnstormers scored 38 points in the first half and the Storm were unable to gather enough momentum to formulate a comeback.

The second game was in Des Moines and also resulted in a Barnstormers victory, 47-37. After being tied at 23 going into halftime, Gabriel Rui of the Barnstormers was able to put the game away in the final seconds with a 62-yard field goal on the kickoff, rewarding his team 2 points.

The third game gave Sioux Falls their first win of the series. In an overtime endeavor, the Storm were able to win on their home turf, 50-47. The Barnstormers received the ball first in overtime. Rui made a field goal to go ahead 47-44, but RB Nate Chavious caught a touchdown to win the game for the Storm.

The Storm will have a chance to tie the 2022 series on Saturday night, while the Barnstormers will look to win it.
