Just like last week, the Ice Flyers kick off a stretch of 4 games in 5 days by heading to Louisiana to face the IceGators. The Ice Flyers hold a 4-2 edge in the season series including a win last Tuesday in Lafayette. Last Tuesday's game was a close 4-3 battle. Each team scored only one even strength goal with Pensacola netting 3 goals on special teams, 2 on the power play and 1 shorthanded, while Louisiana had 2 power play goals. Corey Milan picked up his first win with the Ice Flyers stopping 29 of Louisiana's 32 shots.

The Ice Flyers, who have a 4 point lead over Louisiana for 4th place in the SPHL, have a road record of 9-8-3 and Louisiana is 10-7-1 on their home ice.

Team Scope:

PENSACOLA - The IceFlyers picked up 7 out of 8 points last week with wins against Louisiana, Fayetteville, and Huntsville along with a shootout loss to Huntsville on Friday. Corey Milan's overall record now stands at 7-6-3 with a 3.55 goals against average and a .870 save percentage. His stats with the Ice Flyers are far better with a 3-0-1 record, 2.40 GAA, and 0.911 SV%. Jeff Rose has a combined record of 4-7-1, 4.03 GAA, and a 0.857 SV%. Jordan Chong still leads the team in scoring with 38 points. Chris Wilson, Mike Carter, and Matthew Robertson all hold the team lead in goals with 16 apiece while Chong still leads the team in assists with 23.

The Ice Flyers' power play is 4th best in the league at 18.60% and the Flyers have scored 32 power play goals while only giving up 1 shorthanded goal. Pensacola's penalty kill sits in 4th at 82.22% giving up 24 power play goals against while managing to score 5 shorthanded goals.

The Ice Flyers' will travel to Biloxi on Friday to face off with the Mississippi Surge before returning home to host the IceGators on Saturday and the Huntsville Havoc on Sunday.

LOUISIANA- The IceGators ended last week with a couple of positives with wins over the Mississippi Surge and Mississippi RiverKings after last Tuesday's loss to the Ice Flyers. In net, the Gators have Dan Earles and B.J. O'Brien. Earles has a record of 8-5-0, a 3.36 GAA, and a 0.884 SV%. O'Brien has a total record of 9-7-2, a 2.84 GAA, and a 0.900 SV%. Louisiana's leading scorer remains Jason Hill who now has 61 points. Robert Short holds the team lead in goals with 22 while Hill still leads the team in assists with 44.

Louisiana boasts the SPHL's second best power play at 20.00% with 41 power play goals, most in the SPHL. However, the Gators' power play has allowed 6 shorthanded goals, tied for second most in the league. Their penalty kill is 7th in the league at 80.12% with 33 power play goals against and only managing 2 shorthanded goals.

The Gators will hit the road this weekend and travel north to face the Mississippi RiverKings on Friday before heading to the Hangar on Saturday.
