Tacoma Defiance News Release
Sounders FC 2 (12-11-3, 39 points) returns home after a three-week road swing to host Orange County Blues FC (13-9-3, 42 points) Friday evening at Starfire Stadium (7:30 p.m. PT / SoundersFC.com). The Rave Green need just two points to clinch a postseason berth with only two matches remaining in the club's inaugural 2015 campaign. S2 is 1-0-1 against the Blues this season, winning once at home by a final score of 2-1 after a late Pablo Rossi penalty kick goal on May 1 before drawing 1-1 on the road in Irvine on May 30.
Orange County Blues FC currently sits tied for third in the USL Western Conference and has already clinched a spot in the USL playoffs. With a victory, S2 would clinch the sixth and final playoff position remaining in the conference. Depending on other results from around the conference, S2 could still secure hosting rights for the USL Western Conference Quarterfinals with a third or fourth-place finish.
