OKC Energy FC News Release

OKC Energy FC (12-7-7) looks to close out its regular season home schedule Saturday, Sept. 12 at Taft Stadium, when the club hosts current conference-leader Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC (14-9-3). After consecutive road losses to the Real Monarchs and Tulsa Roughnecks FC, OKC seeks its first victory since clinching the franchise's first-ever playoff berth following a 2-0 win over Austin on August 29 at Taft Stadium.

With 20 goals on the season, Energy FC leading scorer Danni Konig has been held scoreless in consecutive games for the first time since a two-game stint between May 31 and June 5. Konig's 20 goals tied a former USL record for goals in a season, but Louisville City FC's Matt Fondy was the first player to break the record, with four goals in a two-game span. Konig is currently two goals behind Fondy for what will ultimately be a new USL record.

Though Energy FC has clinched a playoff berth, just six standings points separate the top-seven Western Conference teams. OKC is currently seeded second in the conference playoff picture, with the top two finishers receiving byes in the first round of the upcoming playoffs. The top four teams are guaranteed a home playoff game.
