RHP Zack Brown (1-4, 5.28) vs. RHP Mike Wright (0-1, 3.60)

Birthday Boy: Missions outfielder Michael O'Neill turns 27 years old today.

Jump On It: Cory Spangenberg is currently on a 15-game on-base streak. It is the longest such streak by a Missions player this season. Over the 15 games Spangenberg boasts a slash line of .321/.403/.547 with 11 runs, 4 doubles, 1 triple, 2 home runs, 8 RBI, 7 walks, and 1 hit by pitch. The 15-game on-base streak is tied for ninth longest active streak in the PCL.

At All Costs: Nate Orf reached base on a hit by pitch for the 11th time on Monday, which is the second most in the Pacific Coast League behind only Reno's Wyatt Mathisen who has been hit 14 times. Orf is in his seventh professional season and has been plunked at least 10 times in six of those seasons. He was hit by a career-high 22 pitches in 2014 with Advanced-A Brevard County and 21 last year with Triple-A Colorado Springs (20) and Milwaukee (1). He led the Florida State League in 2014.

Three-Game Sets: One of the big differences between Double-A in the Texas League and Triple-A in the Pacific Coast league is the scheduling. In 2018 the Missions played in 15 three-game series and went 8-7 in those series. In 2019 San Antonio has played in two three-game series and are scheduled to play in just six more beginning tonight against Salt Lake. The Missions have claimed victories in the first two three-game series.

Outliers: The Missions had a tough go of it on Monday in their road trip finale as they allowed season-highs in runs (17), hits (19), and home runs (6). The six home runs were the most home runs San Antonio has allowed in a game since May 24, 2006 when they fell to Double-A Tulsa 17-2 and the Drillers clubbed a half-dozen long balls.

Days Off, Wins On: After an off day yesterday the Missions are poised to open up their series against the Tacoma Rainiers with a win. San Antonio is 4-0 after off days this season and since 2017 are 21-9 after a day off. Manager Rick Sweet has also had success after off days. Sweet's teams are 18-8 following off days since 2017.

A Familiar Face: The Tacoma Rainiers are managed by former Missions manager Daren Brown. Brown was at the helm of the Double-A Missions in 2006 while San Antonio was a Mariners affiliate. The Missions went 60-78 under Brown in 2006.
