Corpus Christi Hooks News Release
Corpus Christi (12-15) @ Midland (16-11)
There wasn't much that went right for the Hooks last night. Midland starter Dan Straily recorded a season-best 11 strikeouts and the Hooks committed a season-high four errors as the home team rolled to its fifth straight win, 10-2. The result gave the Hooks their fifth consecutive loss - the club's second five-game losing streak this season.
Doubt surrounding the game's outcome was removed in the bottom of the second, when the RockHounds scored six runs on just three hits. Two Corpus Christi errors in the inning led to four of the six runs being unearned. Nine-hole hitter Dusty Coleman led the charge on offense for Midland, going 3-for-4 with a triple, two runs and an RBI. Josh Horton knocked in three runs, two coming on his third home run of the year.
Tonight's Matchup:
RHP Jose Cisnero (2-2, 3.80) vs. RHP Sonny Gray (1-2, 4.80)
Cisnero, signed by the Astros as a non-drafted free agent in December of 2007, makes his sixth start this season and his second against the RockHounds. Sunday at Dr Pepper Ballpark, Cisnero gave up a season-high 11 hits and six earned runs in just four innings in a 10-3 loss to Frisco. Cisnero had not allowed more than four hits in any of his first four starts this year. Last year, as a stalwart in Lancaster's rotation, Cisnero led all Houston farmhands and ranked sixth in the California League with 152 strikeouts. Selected Lancaster's pitcher of the month twice last season (May and July), Cisnero led the JetHawks in starts (27) and tied for the team lead in wins (8).

Gray has worked between 5.0 and 7.0 innings and thrown between 85 and 94 pitches in each of his first five starts.
