The Lowdown

This is the final meeting of the season between the Pats and one of the top teams in the WHL, the Calgary Hitmen. Even though the blue and white have played them well, the Hitmen have won all three of the previous game.

Nothin' but the "Hits":

After hitting a rough stretch at the end of January, the Hitmen are one of the hottest teams in the Eastern Conference they have won 5 in a row and are 8 and 2 in their last ten. They are lead by the current CHL goaltender of the week and Canadian World Junior goaltender, Martin Jones

Who's who: The Hitmen currently have 5 players with 40 or more points and 14 players that have 20 or more points, all lead by World Junior forward Brandon Kozun

The Race:

With just 17 games left in the WHL season, the Pats are currently 5 points behind the Moose Jaw Warriors for the 8th and final playoff spot, 6 back of the Prince Albert Raiders for 7th and are just 4 points behind Swift Current for ninth.

On the ice tonight:

There are 7 other games tonight in the WHL with the Pats keeping a keen eye on three other games with Prince Albert in Medicine Hat, Swift Current in Saskatoon and Moose Jaw in Spokane.

Chuck a Puck night:

Tonight is Budget Rent a Car chuck a puck night at the Brandt Centre. Budget will be selling pucks to fans who in turn will throw them on the ice during second intermission with prizes on the line to the winner. All of the proceed will go to the Regina Food Bank.

With the Pats in full chase mode in the Eastern Conference playoff race, every game is important from here on in. Here's how the rest of the schedule breaks down: 15 games (6 home/9 away), 13 v/ Eastern Conference, 10 East Division, 2 B.C. Division.

Bank on extra time:

With the Pats trying to grind their way to a playoff spot in the Eastern Conference, they have found a way to get points in all but two of their last 13 games. 7 of them have gone to overtime with 6 going to a shoot-out with the Pats winning 2 of them.
