Your Aberdeen Wings (5-2-0-0) host the Minot Minotauros (6-2-0-0) this Friday & Saturday night at the Odde Ice Center! The Wings are looking for their 4th straight win, but will be up against an explosive offense in Minot. So far on the season Minot has put up 39 goals in just 8 games. This is tied for the most goals for in the NAHL. 20 of those goals were netted in the NAHL Showcase, another 13 were added in a road sweep of Brookings. The Wings will be looking to focus on what makes them go, solid defense and timely scoring to continue their winning ways. Matt Vernon is the expected starter for tonight. He has been between the pipes for the Wings since starting the 2nd game of the season. Thus far he has a 5-1-0-0 record, 2.15 GAA and a .928 Save % with one shut out. The vets have carried much of the load this season when it comes to offense. Leading the way is team captain Nic Sicoly with 3 goals and 7 assists, just behind him are Joe Strada (Last week's NAHL Central Division Star of the Week) with 3 goals and 6 assists and Jonathan Bendorf with 3 goals and 5 assists. Nipping on their tail is Thomas Rocco with 6 points, 3 goals & 3 assists.
