Tonight - the Saskatoon Blades will try to end a 4 game losing skid while completing a season series sweep over the visiting Edmonton Oil Kings. Both teams come in with just 1 win in their last 5 outings. The Blades currently sit 4 points behind Prince Albert in the Eastern Conference wild-card race. The Blades are 3-0 against the Oil Kings this season, a complete flip from last year when Edmonton swept the season series 4-0. Josh Paterson and Braylon Shmyr each have 4 points vs the Oill Kings this year, while Trey Fix-Wolansky leads the way for Edmonton with 3 points in 3 games against Saskatoon.

The opponent - Edmonton is beginning a 3 game road trip in Saskatoon tonight, and they're also trying to snap a 4 game losing streak. The Oil Kings have just one win in their last 7 outings, and haven't had much time to rest since there last game on Sunday against Regina. Currently sitting in last place, the Oil Kings have proven to surprise teams as the gritty youth on the team is looking to make an impression for next season.

For Saskatoon - The Blades can't afford to take Edmonton lightly and with the current situation in the Eastern Conference wild-card race... the Blades have to win, win, and win to keep their playoff hopes alive. Saskatoon's power play has dried up going 0/12 in the last 3 games, but they'll have a chance to break through tonight against the league's worst penalty kill.
