Gambler Players and Head Coach Jon Cooper Selected as Honorary Captain

April 8, 2009 - arenafootball2 (af2)
Green Bay Blizzard News Release

Head Coach Jon Cooper of the Green Bay Gamblers and 2009 Anderson Cup Champion Green Bay Gamblers will be in attendance at this Friday's Blizzard game and will be the honorary captain. Cooper and the Gambler players will be on the field before the game and will participate in the coin flip.

The Gamblers played against the Des Moines Buccaneers this past Sunday at the Resch Center and came away with a 6-4 win and the Anderson Cup Championship. Accomplishing this task now gives the Gamblers a home ice advantage throughout the Clark Cup Playoffs with the first matchup coming to the Resch Center Thursday night against the Waterloo Black Hawks. After playing game two on Saturday night at the Resch Center the games will move to the Young Arena in Waterloo.

Cooper was also selected as the USHL's General Manager of the Year in only his first season with the Gamblers. The Green Bay Blizzard congratulates Cooper and the entire Gambler organization on their success so far this season and wishes them good luck in their upcoming playoff series. The Blizzard organization looks forward to having them in attendance at our game on Friday against the Manchester Wolves.

This upcoming game also happens to be our first Budweiser Buck Night $1 beers, $1 sodas and $1 hot dogs. This is a great opportunity to bring the family to see a great football game and save money at the concessions stand at the same time.
