
Gallup Talons announce 5k walk,run

Gallup, NM. The ABA Gallup Talons professional basketball team, continuing the partnership they have established with law enforcement and education, announce a 5K Run/Walk to be held Sunday, November 6th. The activities will begin promptly at noon, rain or shine, and will start at the Community Pantry located at the northeast corner of the Miyamura overpass and Hasler Valley Road.
Registration will begin at 11am on race day and all participants will receive a T-shirt. The race is open to individuals or teams of five or more. The top overall runners will receive cash prizes with high school and college athletes excluded from these awards, but encouraged to participate. The top three finishers in each age group ofr the run will receive awards. The categories will be 19 and under, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59 and 60 and over.
The first place team, based on the finish of the team's first five runners, will also receive an award, as will each team member. Teams may have as many runners as they want, but only the first five finishers count unless there is a tie. In case of a tie, cross-country rules will apply until the tie is broken. Team entries must be stapled together.
