
Vision to host open house

Atlanta, GA. The ABA Atlanta Vision will host their 1st Annual Media Day and Open House on Saturday, November 5th from 2pm-4pm. Fans, sponsors, media, friends and family will help kick off the 2005-2006 season with Vision staff, players and dance team. "We want to formally introduce the Vision and ABA basketball excitement to the entire community," states Quentin Townsend, owner of the Atlanta Vision. "It is important for our fans to get to know the new talent on our roster, dance team and staff."
The Dekalb Chamber of Commerce will kick off the event with an official ribbon cutting ceremony at the Atlanta Vision home venue, The Samson's Center, located at 6400 Woodrow Road, Lithonia, GA 30038. Media day will be full of activities for the entire family that include face painting, a "Big Vision" inflatable hoop, fun give-a-ways, and a special appearance by "Ace," the official Dekalb County Police Department mascot. Onlookers will also enjoy a performance by the Vision dance team, a public practice with the team, and a slam-dunk exhibition. Media also will have an opportunity to interview Vision General Manager, Dennis "3-D" Scott, Georgia Technical Hall of Fame Inductee, Head Coach Kevin Whitted, the scoring leader at E.A. Laney High School (surpassing Michael Jordan) and members of the training camp roster.
Fans will have a question and answer session with Scott and Whitted to inquire about the upcoming season for the Atlanta Vision. Festivities will conclude with an autograph session by training camp roster players and the beautiful ladies of the Vision dance team. GM Dennis Scott commented, "We are headed towards a great season because our organization is solid with smart leadership in the front office as well as on the court."
The Atlanta Vision 36 game season begins in November and goes into March with 18 home games at The Samson's Center. The ABA was made famous by Julius "Dr. J" Erving, the red, white and blue ball, innovative ruiles and fan-friendly affordable entertainment. The Atlanta Vision plays in the Marvin Barnes Division of the ABA.
