Gallimore and Rai score in 4-2 loss to Spokane

Spokane - The Spokane Chiefs defeated the Seattle Thunderbirds 4-2 Friday night at the Spokane Veterans Memorial Arena.
Spokane (29-18-3-1) took a 1-0 lead at 3:51 of the first period on an unassisted goal by Kyle Beach.
Anthony Bardaro put the T-Birds in front 2-0 at 5:21 of the first with his third goal of the year. Ryan Letts and Brady Brassart had assists on the goal. The T-Birds cut the Spokane lead to one at 17:08 of the first on an unassisted goal by Burke Gallimore. Gallimore intercepted a pass in the Seattle neutral zone and headed up ice on a two-on-one with Lindsay Nielsen on his right. Gallimore came into the Spokane zone and snapped a wrist shot on goal from the left circle. Gallimores shot hit off Spokane goalie James Reids glove and went into net.
Beach scored at 17:32 of the first to give the Chiefs the two-goal lead back. Stefan Ullmer had the only assist on the goal.
Spokane outshot Seattle 17-12 in the first period.
The Chiefs lead 31-21 in shots after 40 minutes by outshooting the T-Birds 14-9 in the second period.
Seattle (14-28-4-4) cut the Spokane lead to one goal at 7:44 of the third period on a five-on-three power-play goal by Prab Rai. Colin Jacobs sent the puck from the left point to Jeremy Schappert at the right point. Schappert put a slap shot on goal that Reid deflected to his left and right to Rai. Rai put the puck into the net from a sharp angle for his 28th goal of the year.
Levko Koper added an empty-net goal at 19:56 of the third to get the final Chiefs goal. Tyler Johnson and Beach had assists on the goal.
Spokane outshot Seattle 13-8 in the third period and 44-29 in the game.
Seattle goalie Calvin Pickard made 40 saves on 43 shots and his record is now 12-24-4-4.
Reid stopped 27 of 29 shots and his record is now 21- 12-3-1.
The T-Birds travel to Portland to take on the Winterhawks on Saturday at 7:05 p.m. They return home on Sunday to face the Kelowna Rockets at ShoWare Center at 5:05 p.m.
T-Birds single game tickets for the 2009-10 season are available online at the T-Birds website and at the ShoWare Center box office. The ShoWare Center Box Office is open Monday through Friday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Saturday 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Saturday game days at 10 a.m. and Sunday game days at noon.
