CARSON, CA (Thursday, January 29, 2004) - The Los Angeles Galaxy have reached an agreement with Los Angeles television outlet KWHY - Channel 22 to continue as the Spanish language television home of the Galaxy, the club and the station announced today. KWHY will broadcast five Galaxy matches during the 2004 Major League Soccer season and will continue to air its weekly half-hour show focused on the team, Galaxy Deportivo.

"We are very pleased that KWHY has decided to remain a part of the Galaxy family for the 2004 season," said Los Angeles Galaxy Vice President/General Manager Doug Hamilton. "We hope to build on the momentum gained during the 2003 season and look forward to continue working with the industry leaders."

The 2004 campaign will mark KWHY's second as a Galaxy broadcast partner, joining KMPC 1540 AM The Ticket (English Radio), KMXE 830AM (Spanish Radio) and KCAL 9 (English TV). KWHY Channel 22 is a Telemundo-affiliated station whose signal covers most of Southern California.

After airing two Galaxy regular season games and one playoff game in 2003, KWHY will provide Hispanic soccer fans in the Southland with more extensive coverage of their hometown team in 2004. Five Galaxy regular season matches during the 2004 campaign will air on the station and a re-vamped Galaxy Deportivo will be broadcast weekly Saturdays at 3:00 p.m., beginning January 31.

KWHY will once again be turning to the familiar faces of Jaime Motta and Elmer Polanco behind the microphone for both the weekly Galaxy Deportivo show and the match broadcasts. The duo should be familiar to the Galaxy's Hispanic fans, as both have done extensive work covering the Galaxy for various media outlets in the Los Angeles market, including serving as the voices and faces for all Galaxy broadcasts on the station a year ago.

KWHY-TV is owned and operated by Telemundo, the fastest growing U.S. Spanish-language television network. Telemundo reaches 90% of U.S. Hispanic viewers through its 11 owned and operated stations and more than 50 broadcast affiliates. Telemundo is a wholly owned and operated subsidiary of NBC, the nation's leading broadcast network.

Los Angeles Galaxy tickets are now on sale for the 2004 season at The Home Depot Center, who open their ninth season in MLS with a match against the New England Revolution at 7 pm (PT) on Saturday April 3, 2004.
