
Gainey Named Assistant Coach

KAMLOOPS, BC - The Kamloops Blazers today announce the hiring of Steve Gainey as an Assistant Coach for the 2007-08 WHL season. Gainey, a 28-year-old Blazer alumnus who calls Kamloops home, joins Andrew Milne and Shane Zulyniak as assistants to Dean Clark.
After a four-year career with the Blazers from 1995 to 1999, Gainey played six seasons of professional hockey in the IHL and AHL with the Kalamazoo K-Wings, Utah Grizzlies, Philadelphia Phantoms, and the San Antonio Rampage and has 30 games of NHL experience with the Dallas Stars and Phoenix Coyotes.
Steve begins work for the club immediately and will be on hand for Training Camp which opens Thursday morning at ISC.
