CAMP IS COMING
The boards are in the Arena and by Friday morning ice will be ready to skate on as the Spokane Chiefs open their Annual Fall Camp in preparation for the 2007-08 season.
"Its an exciting time of year," Chiefs Head Coach Bill Peters said. "We've been in the office working hard and now we're getting athletes in. It's good to see the progress they made over the summer."
ULMER UPDATE
Stefan Ulmer, the Chiefs selection in the 2007 CHL Import Draft, arrived in Spokane on Sunday night and will be on the ice this weekend during the Annual Fall Camp. Ulmer, a puck-moving defenseman, was the 34th overall selection in the draft.
The native of Austira played 32 games last season for the GCK Lions, and Elite Junior A team in Switzerland, and scored two goals and 12 points. In eight playoff games, Ulmer had five assists. Ulmer also has played for Team Austria's Under 18 National Team in their past two World Championship appearances, scoring one goal and two points in four games.
