Gabe Kapler to Visit Portland

Portland, Maine- The Boston Red Sox have announced that Red Sox outfielder Gabe Kapler will make an appearance in Portland on Saturday as part of the 2004 Red Sox Winter Caravan Tour presented by Coca-Cola. Kapler will be at the Portland Public Market from 3:00-4:00 PM on Saturday, February 7th. Kapler will be on hand to sign free autographs for fans at the upper level of the market. The Portland Public Market is located at 25 Preble Street.
Kapler was signed to a Minor League contract by the Red Sox on June 24th, 2003. Kapler appeared in one game for the Portland Sea Dogs on Friday, June 27th before being promoted to the big league club on Saturday, June 28th. Kapler appeared in 68 games with the Red Sox in 2003 and hit .291 with 4 HR, and 23 RBI.
Slugger the Sea Dog will join Kapler at the Portland Public Market on Saturday.
