Harrisburg Senators News Release

The Harrisburg Senators announced today that long-time radio voice, Brad Sparesus will be leaving the organization. Sparesus will be returning to his home in the Chicago area to pursue other interests in the sports field.

"I felt we were very lucky to hook up with Brad nine years ago," said Senators Assistant General Manager and radio partner Mark Mattern. "Now, I feel we were lucky to keep him here for nine seasons. Brad has a wonderful ability of presenting the game that made it fun for the fans."

Sparesus came to Harrisburg from Albany, GA, prior to the 1995 season. Besides his work with the Polecats in Albany, Brad worked for the Lynchburg Red Sox in Virginia. He also handled all facets of Media Relations here in Harrisburg as well as corporate sales.

"I really enjoyed my time here in Harrisburg. We had maybe one of the best runs ever with the four championships and Milton's (Bradley) home run. Those are moments I will remember, always," said Sparesus. "It's been a lot of fun."

Sparesus says that the move will allow his family the ability to get closer to home and will also open up several new opportunities.

A search for a replacement for Sparesus in the broadcast booth is already under way.
