Boscan also threw out two runners on steal attempts. First baseman Freddie Freeman finished 2-for-4 with 2 RBI, extending his season-high hitting streak to 9 games. Third baseman Wes Timmons went 1-for-1 with his 11th steal of the season and reached base four of his five times at the plate.

The opposition:

On the Mound: Chiefs starter, RHP Jeff Mandel (2-3), went just 2.2 IP in the loss. He was charged with 7 R/6 ER, while walking 3, striking out none and giving up a homer.

At the plate: Right fielder Kevin Mench went 1-for-4 with 2 RBI, while center fielder Justin Maxwell was 2-for-4 with an RBI.

On Deck: Gwinnett welcomes another IL North squad to Coolray Field, facing off against the Buffalo Bisons (New York Mets) in the first game of a four-game series at 7:05 p.m. The G-Braves will send RHP Tim Gustafson (6-4, 5.30 ERA) to the hill against RHP Dylan Owen (3-2, 5.73 ERA) for the Bisons.
