June 24, 2003 - Southern League (SL1)
Mississippi Braves News Release
Beginning this Wednesday and continuing for all 2003 Greenville Braves Wednesday home games, the Greenville Braves and Carolina Pride Hot Dogs are turning back the clocks, offering fans an opportunity to purchase hot dogs all night at 25 cents for the entire family.
"We wanted to give fans another opportunity for an affordable, fun night out for dinner-and-a-show," said G-Braves General Manager Steve DeSalvo. "Carolina Pride Hot Dogs have been a tremendous corporate partner for us, and they really stepped up to the plate, so to speak, to help us provide this promotion for our fans." Remaining Wednesday home games include June 25, July 23, and August 6th, all beginning at 7:15 with gates and concessions opening at 6:00pm.
Over the last 20 years, the Greenville Braves have sent over 120 players to the Major Leagues, including such stars as Chipper Jones, Andruw Jones, Steve Avery, Tom Glavine, Javy Lopez, and many more. "This is a chance for fans to be able to build family memories and then in a few years from now, say, 'I remember meeting him in Greenville.'", added DeSalvo. "We're truly excited to be able to provide this promotion in such a unique way in this our 20th Commemorative season in our community."
The G-Braves have been active in the community for 20 years, hosting special nights every year to benefit local charities and sponsoring charity functions throughout the year. The G-Braves also offer many other successful children's programs including the Pride in Carolina's Youth Reading Program, the Gatti-Town Braves Buddies Club and more.
The G-Braves are the Double-A affiliate of the Atlanta Braves, and remain the only franchise in minor league baseball to draw more than 200,000 fans for 19 consecutive years, and are celebrating its 20th season in Greenville.
