Below is a list of all the activities scheduled for tomorrow, Saturday, September 11 at Truist Point.
Saturday, September 11 events at Truist Point
6:30 am
High Point Fire Department and other first responders will take part in a 'Stair Climb' in tribute to the 343 New York City Firefighters who lost their lives at the World Trade Center in New York. The firefighters will walk the equivalent of the 110-story height of the World Trade Center and their steps also correspond with the 2,973 lives lost that day. The general public may also attend to observe or participate.
11:00 am
The "Heroes Run 5K" will begin on Gatewood Avenue, concluding at home plate inside Truist Point. Prizes will be given to the top three finishers and each participant will get ticket vouchers to a future Rockers home game. Registration on the day of the event will begin at 10 a.m. A portion of each registration will be evenly donated to the North Carolina Firefighters Foundation as well as Angels in Blue.
3:00 pm
Gates open for a charity softball game inside Truist Point between the High Point Police Department and the High Point Fire Department. Game time is set for 3:30 p.m.
4:15 pm
The Rock the Point Concert Series continues with The Plaids. The Plaids are the Piedmont's No. 1 party band and will perform along Gatewood Avenue adjacent to Truist Point until 6:15 p.m.
5:00 pm
Home Run Derby featuring members of the High Point Police and High Point Fire Departments. Special guest hitters include members of the High Point Rockers.
7:05 pm
High Point Rockers vs. West Virginia Power. The two teams enter Friday night's game in first place in the Atlantic League's South Division. It is "First Responders Night," with the Rockers wearing special custom-made jerseys. The jerseys that will be auctioned with the proceeds benefiting the North Carolina Fire Fighters Association and Angels in Blue. Fans only need one ticket to see both the softball and baseball games. The North Carolina Firefighters Foundation and Angels in Blue will receive $4 from each ticket sold.
Post-game
Following the game, Rockers pitcher and rising country music star Bryce Hensley will hold a benefit concert inside Truist Point. Those who have a ticket to the Rockers game that evening can stay for the post-game concert as well. The concert will benefit local first responders.
