October 21, 2015 - American Hockey League (AHL)
St. John's IceCaps News Release

St. John's, NL - In just his second pro start, rookie netminder Zach Fucale made 40 big stops to propel the IceCaps to a 3-2 win over the Binghamton Senators Wednesday at Mile One Centre.

Fucale faced double-digit shots in all three periods but was up to the task, picking up his second win in as many starts in his young pro career. Mac Bennett's first period tally stood up as the game-winner while Daniel Carr and Darren Dietz also notched goals. Sven Andrighetto had a pair of assists, and Bud Holloway and Christian Thomas both extended their point streaks to four games.

The IceCaps led 3-0 after 20 minutes but the Senators clawed back in the second on goals from Eric O'Dell and Max McCormick. Despite being outshot 12-5 in the final frame, St. John's held on for the win and the series split as Fucale was flawless down the stretch. The IceCaps have now recorded a point in all four home games to start the season (3-0-1-0).

The IceCaps begin a two-game series with the Bridgeport Sound Tigers on Saturday (7:30 PM) before wrapping up their six-game home stand with a Sunday afternoon tilt (4:00). Tickets are still available and can be purchased at the box office in-person or online at www.mileonecentre.com.
