San Diego Gulls Announce 'Salute to Heroes' Program
October 21, 2015 - American Hockey League (AHL)
San Diego Gulls News Release
SAN DIEGO - The San Diego Gulls announced today that the American Hockey League (AHL) club will honor members of the United States military through a 'Salute to Heroes' program at its Saturday, Nov. 14 home game against the San Jose Barracuda (7:05 p.m.).
The Gulls' 'Salute to Heroes' gives local companies and organizations the opportunity to purchase and donate an entire section of seats to the game on Saturday, Nov. 14. Tickets purchased by participating sponsors will be distributed by the Gulls to active military and their families in partnership with local military entities including MWR, MCCS, 3rd Marine Aircraft Wing, and others. In addition to partnering with the Gulls to support U.S. service members, all participating organizations will receive recognition for their support of the 'Salute to Heroes' on the video board during the game and in the Gulls' December game day program, and will also have the opportunity for two guests to join Head Coach Dallas Eakins at a VIP lunch (to be held at a later date).
JMG SECURITY SYSTEMS, an existing Gulls partner, has already signed on as the program's first contributor. "JMG SECURITY SYSTEMS is proud to be the first corporate partner of the Gulls' 'Salute to Heroes' program," said Ken Jacobs, CEO of JMG SECURITY SYSTEMS, USAF. "JMG has been a long-time supporter of U.S. military. We look forward to being just one of the many companies that agree this is a great opportunity to show support and gratitude for our local armed forces community. As a Southern California-based company operating in America's Finest City, we are honored to be a part of the San Diego community that pays tribute to the men and women who serve our country."
Gulls Head Coach Dallas Eakins, a longtime supporter of both U.S. and Canadian armed forces, has been a key figure in creating and executing the program. Click here for additional information and a message from Coach Eakins.
