Portland Pirates Assign Brown to Manchester

Portland, ME - The Portland Pirates today announced the reassignment of defenseman Josh Brown to the Manchester Monarchs of the ECHL.

Brown, a 6-foot-4, 215 pound rookie defenseman from London, Ontario, had yet to skate in a game with Portland this season. The 21 year-old captained the OHL's Oshawa Generals to both the OHL's J. Ross Robertson Cup and the CHL's Memorial Cup championship last season.

Drafted by the Florida Panthers in the Sixth Round (152nd Overall) of the 2013 NHL Entry Draft, Brown will join the Monarchs ahead of their next game this Saturday on the road against the Adirondack Thunder.
