Madison Capitols News Release
MADISON, WI - The Madison Capitols, a member of the United States Hockey League, have partnered with Northwestern Mutual for the inaugural Frozen Lemonade Classic to benefit Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation on Saturday, December 17, the team announced on Thursday.
The Capitols will wear lemonade themed jerseys, courtesy of Northwestern Mutual, when they host Team USA at the Veterans Memorial Coliseum on Saturday, December 17. The jerseys will be auctioned off during the game in a silent auction, and post-game in a live auction with proceeds benefiting Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation.
"We are excited to be teaming up with the Madison Capitols for such an amazing cause," said Northwestern Mutual Middleton's Managing Director Josh Kosnick. "Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation and funding the fight to end childhood cancer is the corporate cause for Northwestern Mutual, and this cause has a special place in our hearts here in Madison. We love the idea of being able to share the message with the fan base and our community of the greater Madison area. This will be a tremendous partnership!"
Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation is a national charity whose mission is "to raise money and awareness of childhood cancer causes, primarily for research into new treatments and cures, and to encourage and empower others, especially children, to get involved and make a difference for children with cancer." Their slogan is, "Curing childhood cancer, one cup at a time."
Northwestern Mutual is purchasing tickets to the Capitols game, and $4 for every ticket will be donated to Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation.
"We are happy to partner with Northwestern Mutual, and raise funds and awareness for Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation," said Capitols Director of Sponsorship Jon Marquardt. "No child should have to go through the trials and tribulations of cancer. We want to give back to the community, and help to become one step closer to finding a cure."
The Capitols host the Green Bay Gamblers for $1 Beer Night, Free Parking, and the Wisconsin Cheese Cup, presented by the Wisconsin Milk Marketing Board, Emmi Roth, and Mousehouse Cheesehaus, at 7:05 p.m. on Friday, December 9. Season tickets, 10-Game Pick 'Em packages, Flex Packs, and Group tickets are now available! For more information, call the Capitols at (608) 257-CAPS, or visit www.MADCAPSHOCKEY.com.
