EVANSVILLE, Ind.- Here's what's happening with the Evansville IceMen, presented by Coors Light.
This Week's Games (Friday Dec. 26 vs. Fort Wayne, Saturday Dec. 27 at Fort Wayne)
The Evansville IceMen will return from holiday break to host the Fort Wayne Komets on Friday Dec. 26. It will be the final home against the rival Komets this season.
Puck drop is scheduled for 7:15 p.m. It will be Cash and Prizes Night at the Ford Center so stop by for a chance to walk home with some great prizes and maybe some money.
The IceMen will face the Komets for the fifth time in 15 days on Dec. 27th as they travel to Fort Wayne.
Coors Light Cold Hard Facts
- Evansville is 7-4-0-1 when scoring 3 or more goals.
-The IceMen are 8-2-2-1 when holding opponents to 3 goals or less.
-Evansville has been successful on 40 of its last 44 penalty kills. That's a 91% success rate dating back to Nov. 23.
League Leaders and Milestone Watch
Kevin Harvey leads the ECHL in major penalties with 11. He is fifth in penalty minutes with 105.
- Evansville's Chris Driedger is tied for second in the league with two shutouts. Driedger is also tied for the franchise record in shutouts.
-The IceMen have committed the least amount of minor penalties in the ECHL with 92.
Milestones
-Donnie Harris moved into 6th place in games played in an IceMen uniform with his 108th game played on Saturday.
-Patrick Kennedy is one point away from 10th place on the IceMen's all-time scoring list.
-Matt Lowry is 2 assists away from 10th place in IceMen history .
-Kevin Harvey is 5 assists away from 100 for his pro career.

After a Mitch Holmberg goal put the IceMen in a 1-0 hole, Evansville answered in the second period as Colin Murray weaved through the defense and scored on the backhand to tie the game at one. Troy Rutkowski and Brandon Martell added the assists on Murray's first goal with the IceMen.
However, Holmberg scored twice more to complete the hat trick as the Jackals pulled out a 4-1 win. Evansville finishes the season 1-4-1-0 against Elmira.

Friday, Dec. 19 vs. Reading L 2-1
Danny Hobbs scored in the final minute to bring the IceMen back within one. Evansville fired more pucks at the net, but Reading was able to escape with a 2-1 win.

Saturday, Dec. 20 Vs. Reading L4-3
Evansville swarmed Reading early with goals from Colin Murray and Kale Kerbashian to take a 2-0 lead midway through the first. Reading answered with a pair of goals to tie the game after one.
Patrick Kennedy scored to put the IceMen back in front 3-2, but once again Reading responded with a Pat Mullane strike to knot it up after two. With less than two minutes remaining, Cam Reid lit the lamp for Reading to send the IceMen to their seventh loss in a row.

Sunday December 21 At Fort Wayne L 4-3 SO
At the start of the third period, the Evansville IceMen, trailed the Fort Wayne Komets 3-0. The IceMen rallied with three goals in the third period to force a shootout.
Jim McKenzie got the IceMen's first goal on a deflection off of a Matt Lowry. Patrick Kennedy scored on a Kerbashian rebound to cut the Fort Wayne lead to one.
With just seven seconds left on the clock Kale Kerbashian scored on a Peter Sakaris rebound to tie the game at three. Kerbashian's eighth of the season sent the game to a shootout.
The Komets outscored the IceMen 3-1 on penalty shots to pull out a 4-3 win. Evansville picked up a point in the loss. and now stands tied for 5th in the North Division just four points out of a playoff spot at the holiday break.
