Adirondack Frostbite News Release

GLENS FALLS, NY - The Adirondack Frostbite, proud members of the United Hockey League, were saddened over the weekend with the passing away of head coach/director of hockey operations Marc Potvin. Following are statements from the Frostbite organization.

Frostbite Co-Owner Barry Melrose: "Marc Potvin was one of my best friends in the world. I loved his heart, his courage, his loyalty and I loved his sense of humor. Yesterday I lost a great friend, the world, a great man."

Frostbite Co-Owner Steve Levy: "This is a tragedy in the truest sense of the word. Those who knew Marc knew that he had a kind, compassionate side beneath his rough, tough, coach exterior. This was a man who loved his family first and the sport of hockey second. He made that very clear. I am just one of the many who already miss the guy affectionately known as "Potsie."

Frostbite Assistant General Manager Amy Apicerno: "Anyone who had interaction with Marc Potvin is truly blessed. I was lucky enough to have an amazing colleague and an incredible friend. His life impacted everyone he met, and mine has certainly been changed forever.

The United Hockey League will be setting up a fund in the near future for Marc's son and daughter. More details will be released as they become available.

The Frostbite will honor Marc on Friday as they return home to host the Missouri River Otters at 7:35 p.m. More information will follow later in the week.

Service arrangements are pending at this time.
