RiverDogs Defeat Vipers 3-1

ROANOKE, VA - The Roanoke Valley Vipers, member of the United Hockey League (UHL), fell to the Richmond RiverDogs for the second night in a row Saturday, losing by a final score of 3-1 at the Roanoke Civic Center.

The RiverDogs opened up scoring at 8:32 of the first period with a goal from John DiPace. Mike Wiggins got the Vipers on the board at 19:42 of the second with a power play goal off assists from David Beauregard and matt Miller.

Richmond took the advantage once again with a Mike Oliveira goal at 7:30 of the third. The Vipers battled hard, making a total of 44 shots on Mike D'Alessandro, but to no avail as Warren Cooper took advantage of the Vipers' empty net and secured the win for the RiverDogs with just 26 seconds remaining on the clock.

The Vipers fall to 12-19-4 with 28 points in the Eastern Division standings. They will host the Danbury Trashers on Wednesday, January 18th at 7:05p.m. before the Richmond RiverDogs come back to the Roanoke Civic Center for two more on Friday and Saturday, January 20th and 21st.
