Frostbite Shut Out Mechanics

Fraser, MI – The Motor City Mechanics out shot the Adirondack Frostbite 29-26 and held them to 0/6 on the power play but were unable to come up with the win.

With a scoreless tie throughout much of the game, the Frostbite's David Burgess cracked the scoreboard at the 11:55 mark of the third period. Less than a minute later, Ryan Bennett gave Adirondack a commanding 2-0 lead. A Mechanics goal was waved off moments later and the Frostbite walked away with the shutout victory. In goal, Rod Branch made 24 saves for the Mechanics. Derek Gustafson knocked away all 29 shots he faced in net for Adirondack to record the shut out.

The Mechanics will be at home for a double header next weekend December 3rd and 4th. On Friday, the Mechanics will host the Fort Wayne Komets at 7:30pm. Long-Sleeved T-Shirts will be given away to the first 1,000 fans through the door courtesy of WYCD and Dr. Motashko.

On Saturday, the Mechanics will face off against the Rockford IceHogs. Saturday's game will feature a Teddy Bear Toss to benefit Children's Hospital in addition to a post-game jersey auction also benefiting Children's Hospital. Karen Newman will be on hand at Saturday's game to perform the National Anthem and sign autographs. And be sure to stick around after each Mechanics game to meet a few of your favorite players and get autographs.
