
Trashers win fifth straight

Danbury Trashers News Release
The Danbury Trashers extended their unbeaten streak to seven games with a 3-2 home ice victory over the Flint Generals, in front of a crowd of 1,927. The Trashers are winners in their last five games, and 6-0-1 during the unbeaten streak.
J.F. David opened the scoring in the first period with his third goal of the year, from Blake Bellefeuille and Bruce Richardson at 10:53. Danbury point leader Brent Gretzky (7-11-18) gave the Trashers a 2-0 lead with his seventh goal, from Brad Wingfield and Jeff State.
Both teams scored in the second frame. Flint notched its first of the game as Andrei Lupandin scored at 12:36 to make it a 2-1 game, with the Trashers' Mathieu Wathier in the box for elbowing. The Generals' assists went to Bobby Reynolds and John DiPace. Danbury got their two-goal cushion back on Wingfield's sixth goal of the year, from Samir Ben-Amor and J.F. David at 19:39, seconds after a Trashers' power play expired.
Flint scored the only goal of the final frame, at 19:50 gone by. Kris Waltze put the Generals within one, with ten seconds remaining, on a pass from Kam White. The Trashers held on to win the game 3-2.
Guillaume Lavallee won his second game in a row in net, turning aside 34-of-36 shots, while his Generals counterpart Dan McIntyre stopped 28-of-31. Flint was 1-for-7 on the man-advantage while Danbury was just 0-for-3.
