Frostbite make it 10-for-10 against RiverDogs this season

GLENS FALLS, NY -- Hugo Belanger scored two goals and added an assist, and Kevin Watters tallied three assists to lead the Adirondack Frostbite past the Richmond RiverDogs 5-1 on Sunday afternoon in front of 2,274 fans at the Glens Falls Civic Center. The Frostbite improve to 33-16-4 on the season, including a perfect 10-0-0 against Richmond.

The Frostbite scored the only goal of the opening period at the 14:47 mark as Watters and Belanger moved the puck to Greg Koehler on the left-wing side, and he chipped the puck past Doug Groenestege for his seventh goal of the season.

Adirondack seized control of the game, scoring three times in the second period. Belanger started the scoring, tallying a power-play goal at 8:06, and then adding an even-strength tally at 16:00. Ryan Bennett finished the period's scoring, finishing off a 2-on-1 rush after a great pass from Mark Hurtubise. The goal was Bennett's 13th of the season, and his 11th of the month.

Ryan Prentice gave the Frostbite a 5-0 advantage 5:17 into the third period, scoring a shorthanded tally.

Richmond spoiled Derek Gustafson's shutout bid with 6:42 remaining as Mike Oliveira slipped a rebound into the net from the left-wing circle.

Adirondack is off until Saturday, when it travels to Elmira to take on the Jackals at 7:05 p.m. Catch all of the action on WCKM 98.5 starting with the pre-game show at 6:45.
