Adirondack Frostbite News Release
GLENS FALLS, NY -- Kevin Watters and Scott Drevitch notched three assists, while Greg Koehler scored a pair of goals, to lead the Adirondack Frostbite past the Muskegon Fury 6-3 in game three of their first-round Colonial Cup Playoff series. The Fury lead the series two games to one.
Adirondack got off to a quick start, as Mark Hurtubise and Sylvain Cloutier scored just 1:11 apart in the first 4:35 of the opening period. Koehler added a power-play goal at 14:33, giving the Frostbite a 3-0 lead after one period.
Hugo Belanger stretched the lead to 4-0 at 4:13 of the second, taking a centering feed from Watters, and one-timing a shot past Nick Boucher for his second of the series. Boucher was replaced in net by Clayton Pool following the goal.
The Fury got on the board at 6:12 as Rustyn Dolyny tipped home a Jon Insana shot for a shorthanded goal.
But, Blue Bennefield got that goal back at 12:48, tipping home a Watters' shot for his first of the playoffs.
Muskegon made it 5-2 late in the second as Billy Collins slipped a shot past Tebbs for his second of the series.
David Wrigley pulled the Fury within two at 6:09 of the third, one-timing a pass from Todd Robinson past Kris Tebbs.
It stayed that way until late in the period. Adirondack received a power play, and Muskegon pulled Pool for an extra attacker. Koehler capitalized, putting a shot into the open net at 18:02 to set the final.
Game four is Friday night at the Glens Falls Civic Center at 7:35 p.m. Tickets can be purchased at the Glens Falls Civic Center Box Office, or by calling (518) 798-0202.
